Spending Time With Our King Psalms 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

James 4:8

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

So, I thought I would give you an example of what I do for my Bible times/Quiet Times with God. I hope that by me posting this God would get glory and you would draw ever more nearer to Him. Having Bible times daily has greatly impacted my walk with God and I highly recommend that if you don't already have a Bible time daily, then you start. These are just a few ideas, you do not have to do it like me of course :) I have found when you create an atmosphere  for Bible time where you want to be, then you will want to come back. So, that is what I do. I turn on soft worship music, light a few candles, get a snack or a hot drink and just start reading a passage, and then I journal what I got out of the passage.  Your time will be so much more productive if you put some thought into your Bible times, than if you just  go to the middle of the house where every one is chatting and or raising there voice(anyone have 5 brothers:-) and it is messy I personally think that it is harder to concentrate on the Bible if you do not make it a point to put a little time and effort in to it. Although, I said all of that I know that there are busy Mommy's of young kiddos and such who do not have time for a long drawn out Bible time and there is no where in the house that is quiet so dont feel bad:) God knows where you are at! I would love to hear about how you all have your quiet times...What do you do?

Here are some scriptures about having Bible time.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
1 Peter 2:2-3 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Psalms 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Ephesians 5:16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Psalms 5:3In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait in expectation.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

John 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks

Psalms 119:164 Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws

Psalm 119:11
I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you

Psalm 1:2
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

I hope that this little post inspired you in some small way! May you draw ever nearer to our King as He draws near to you.

Walk with Him, and abide in His presence Ladies!

Yesterday, I was listening to a message online about having personal prayer and quiet times with God,which was really encouraging .
This is the scripture I have been meditating on about it.
Matthew 6:6
6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

I have been learning that quiet times with Him are so important , I heard someone say it like this once. If you were engaged to wonderful man who you loved, you would always be talking about Him and all of His great qualities, you would spend time with him you would just like being in his presence and if He were to send you a love letter you would read it over and over again with joyfulness and take in every word, well it is the same thing with God,but so much better! What if we would read His word like a love letter and talk with Him like He is our everything...Just what would happen if He were our everything? He deserves it Ladies. His word is so precious. Rejoice In Him!!!

I would love to hear what the Lord has been teaching you in your walks with the Him!?!?

Rest In Him,
Kelsey

Happy Birthday!

Mommy:
May God’s blessings abound to you
In every little way
May you taste and see His goodness
Every time you kneel to pray
May your day be brightened more

And may you sense He’s with you now
And loves you very much

Glimpses of Selfless Beauty from Women in History

Glimpses of Selfless Beauty from Women in History

Copied from the study guide True Femininity: By Leslie Ludy

A pretty woman, with lovely soft features, kind eyes and dark hair, she was never angry, never impatient, never resentful, she patiently wore away prejudices and hatred by her gentle,  gracious presence and her blameless life. She had all the firmness of a man, and yet a more gentle and womanly woman it would be hard to find.
-Said of Lottie Moon, young missionary to China

Her presence lends warmth and health to all who came before it; if woman lost us Edan, then such as she alone restore it.
-Said of Lucy Webb Hayes, First Lady in 1821

She seemed endowed with a peculiar magnetism when you were in her presence so that you could not help thinking yourself in the presence of a being much higher than the ordinary run of the humanity. I have heard here pray, and she could offer up the finest petition to the Throne of Grace of any person I ever heard in my life. She was always gentle and kind to the Indians, as she was to everyone else. She took interest in every one at the mission, especially the children. Everyone loved her. because to see her was to love her.
-Said of Narcissa Whitman, young married missionary to the Native Americans.

“They say there is a young lady in New Haven who is beloved of that almighty Being, who made and rules the world, and that there are certain seasons in which this great Being, in some way or other invisible, comes to her and fills her mind with exceeding sweet delight, and that she hardly cares for anything, except to meditate on him — that she expects after a while to be received up where he is, to be raised up out of the world and caught up into heaven; being assured that he loves her too well to let her remain at a distance from him always. There she is to dwell with him, and to be ravished with his love and delight forever. Therefore, if you present all the world before her, with the richest of its treasures, she disregards it and cares not for it, and is unmindful of any pain or affliction. She has a strange sweetness in her mind, and singular purity in her affections; is most just and conscientious in all her actions; and you could not persuade her to do anything wrong or sinful, if you would give her all the world, lest she should offend this great Being. She is of a wonderful sweetness, calmness and universal benevolence of mind; especially after those seasons in which this great God has manifested himself to her mind. She will sometimes go about from place to place, singing sweetly; and seems to be always of joy and pleasure; and no one knows for what. She loves to be alone, and to wander in the fields and on the mountains, and seems to have someone invisible always conversing with her.”

    - Written of Sarah Edwards by Jonathan Edwards, her future husband.

    Psalm 45:10,11,13
    10.Listen, O daughter,
    Consider and incline your ear;
    11.Forget your own people also, and your father’s house;
    So the King will greatly desire your beauty;
Because He is your Lord, worship Him.
    13 The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace;
Her clothing is woven with gold.

    Song of Solomon 7:6

6 How fair and how pleasant you are,
    O love, with your delights!

    Proverbs 31:22, 25

Her clothing in fine lien and purple.....Strength and honor are her clothing...

    Song of Solomon 2:2

2 Like a lily among thorns,
So is my love among the daughters.

Proverbs 2 I thought it was very encouraging!

    Benefits of Wisdom

2 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
    and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
    6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just
    and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
    11 Discretion will protect you,
    and understanding will guard you.
12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,
13 who have left the straight paths
    to walk in dark ways,
14 who delight in doing wrong
and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
    15 whose paths are crooked
and who are devious in their ways.
16 Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman,
from the wayward woman with her seductive words,
17 who has left the partner of her youth
and ignored the covenant she made before God.[a]
18 Surely her house leads down to death
and her paths to the spirits of the dead.
19 None who go to her return
or attain the paths of life.
20 Thus you will walk in the ways of the good
and keep to the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright will live in the land,
    and the blameless will remain in it;
22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it.

    A Great Quote

    Amy Carmichael

“What is the secret to great living? Entire separation to Christ and devotion to Him. Thus speaks every man and woman whose life has made more than a passing flicker in the spiritual realm. It is the life that has no time for trifling that counts.”

God help me to live like this!

    Job

I have been reading through the book of Job lately, and have found it to be very encouraging. I highly recommend reading Job!!! If you think your life is bad,and are questioning God, then look what God has to say. I find it kinda funny how God is a little sarcastic toward Job :-)  Do y'all notice that?

    Job 38

    The Lord Speaks

38 Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:

2 “Who is this that obscures my plans
    with words without knowledge?
    3 Brace yourself like a man;
    I will question you,
    and you shall answer me.

4 Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
    Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
    or who laid its cornerstone
7 while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels[a] shouted for joy?

8 “Who shut up the sea behind doors
when it burst forth from the womb,
9 when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness,
10 when I fixed limits for it
and set its doors and bars in place,
    11 when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther;
here is where your proud waves halt’?

12 “Have you ever given orders to the morning,
or shown the dawn its place,
13 that it might take the earth by the edges
and shake the wicked out of it?
    14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal;
its features stand out like those of a garment.
15 The wicked are denied their light,
and their upraised arm is broken.

16 “Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea
or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17 Have the gates of death been shown to you?
Have you seen the gates of the deepest darkness?
18 Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?
Tell me, if you know all this.

19 “What is the way to the abode of light?
    And where does darkness reside?
20 Can you take them to their places?
Do you know the paths to their dwellings?
21 Surely you know, for you were already born!
You have lived so many years!

22 “Have you entered the storehouses of the snow
or seen the storehouses of the hail,
23 which I reserve for times of trouble,
for days of war and battle?
24 What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed,
or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth?
25 Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain,
and a path for the thunderstorm,
26 to water a land where no one lives,
    an uninhabited desert,
27 to satisfy a desolate wasteland
and make it sprout with grass?
28 Does the rain have a father?
Who fathers the drops of dew?
29 From whose womb comes the ice?
Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens
30 when the waters become hard as stone,
when the surface of the deep is frozen?

31 “Can you bind the chains[b] of the Pleiades?
    Can you loosen Orion’s belt?
32 Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons[c]
or lead out the Bear[d] with its cubs?
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens?
Can you set up God’s[e] dominion over the earth?

34 “Can you raise your voice to the clouds
and cover yourself with a flood of water?
35 Do you send the lightning bolts on their way?
Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?
36 Who gives the ibis wisdom[f]
    or gives the rooster understanding?[g]
37 Who has the wisdom to count the clouds?
Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens
38 when the dust becomes hard
and the clods of earth stick together?

39 “Do you hunt the prey for the lioness
and satisfy the hunger of the lions
40 when they crouch in their dens
or lie in wait in a thicket?
41 Who provides food for the raven
when its young cry out to God
and wander about for lack of food?

James 2:1-13 My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? ...

God wants us to love the the people who may not be the  most *popular* or may not  have the nicest clothes  , but the opposite. He wants us  to  love the people who do not have any friends and who do not have good clothes . My parents(who are the best *SMILE*) have always taught me to find the person in the crowd who looks lonely or depressed ,and go give them a smile or ask them to come sit beside me..It is so much easier to just sit down  and be selfish or exclude someone who may not be like you, but only if we would not do that.....God talks so many times in the Bible about serving others and putting yourself last.I am trying every day to be more like Him(although I am not perfect) God help me be more like You!!!

    With love ,
    Kelsey :-)
