In His Presence

A few of the ladies on my last post commented, and asked if I could do a post on how I stay focused on God's Word while Im am reading it, and how to meditate on verses....You ladies are so sweet to even think to ask me. I do want to say though, that I dont have it all together and I don't know all the answers, I so very much to learn. But, God is so faithful to teach us, yes? This is just some examples of what I do. I would love to hear what, and how yall spend time with Jesus, there is always room for learning from sisters in Christ:)

  • First pray and ask God to draw you near to himself, He will if you ask.

James 4:8

8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you....

2 Corinthians 4:18
As we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
  • Go to a quite and peacful place to seek Him.
My deck:)

Not only is it biblical to seek Him in a quite place, it is so much more peaceful and keeps your mind on what your doing when you are alone. I love going outside (when it is nice out).

Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Matthew 14:22-23
Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone

Mark 1:35-37
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed....

  • Create a sacred environment.
“She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
– Proverbs 31:27

Pandora, is awesome for worship music ^ ^^ My favorite station.

Turn some worship music on, grab a cup of something, light a candle..etc. Create an atmosphere that you want to come to. No one wants to go to place where it is messy and just not welcoming. Here is a great article by Leslie Ludy about this. ~Creating a Sacred Environment~

  • Read the Word Daily
"Give us this day our daily bread" Matthew 6:11

When you read the Bible, read for quality not quantity.

God wants us to be in His word daily. It should be our first priority...Even if it is just a few verses it can mean so much. My mom created this online form. It is called Good Morning Girls (GMG). It keeps you accountable and is encoureging to study with other ladies on a daily basis.
  • Get some cute Bible study tools.

My mom has really encouraged me in this area. She bought me some sharpies and a cute journal. It helps when you have some cute supplies.:)

So, that is it...I hope this encouraged you. I pray that your heart would be knit with His, and your time with God would be very fruitful. I love all of you Ladies!!!
