Between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000

“Defend the cause of the weak and the fatherless; Maintain the rights of the poor and
oppressed. Deliver the weak and needy from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:3-4

This past month, me and my dad have been looking into going on a mission trip. Reason is for about the past year the Lord has really put a burden on my heart for those whom have no one to plead there cause, I got to researching and found these statistics.

It is estimated that between 143,000,000 and 210,000,000 children are orphans. That’s at least 143 MILLION children in the world today. (Recent UNICEF report.)

EVERY DAY, 5,760 more children in the world become orphans.
EVERY 2.2 SECONDS another orphan ages out, with no family and no home.
Info from this website

Those statistics just broke my heart. Every day, many children in the world become orphans. While on the other hand, I have been so blessed with such a wonderful life...... a beautiful house, a wonderful family, food and water, parents who told me about Christ and what life is about, and most of all knowledge of the Gospel. Yet, there are so many who do not have what I have. They don't even have a little of what I have, but yet I have so much.

Here are a few verses;
James 1:27
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Matthew 25:40
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Of course I am not saying we are all called to go and minister in another country, there is so many ways we can be Christ in are little communities, but saying that when you see how rich we are and how poor others are it is a call to action for Christians. Whether it is helping our neighbor, smiling at someone who needs a smile, giving a hug...etc. We can all be doing something to be further His Kingdom.
